Contract Drawings Handling Procedure

1.Receipt and Distribution:
• Upon receiving the original contract drawings from consultants or clients, one copy will be retained at the Head Office (HO) for record-keeping.
• Two additional copies will be sent to the site for execution purposes.

2.Review and Implementation:
• Our project engineers thoroughly review every detail of the drawings. • The details are discussed with the workforce and supervisors to ensure that all work is carried out as per the drawings.
• Any changes issued by the consultant/client will be incorporated into the site office drawings and a copy will be sent to the HO for record-keeping and for managing variations or time claims.
3.As-Built Drawings:
• At the end of the project, all site changes will be documented and updated into the final drawings.
• These as-built drawings will be provided to the client for their records.

Records Management

• A detailed register will be maintained by the site team to document all changes during execution.
• This register will be available for review and submission to the client or consultant as required, covering time and cost variations.

Project Mobilization

• Upon receipt of the work order, a pre-assigned site team will immediately take charge of the project. • Mobilization activities will be supervised by a designated project manager to ensure a smooth start.

Materials Management

1. General Materials:
• A material schedule will be prepared by the project engineer and planning engineer, including details such as material name, required date, approval status, budget, and current status.
• Upon arrival, materials will be inspected by the site engineer for compliance with consultant approvals, and the storekeeper will verify quantities and check for any damage.
• Materials will be properly stored and issued to the workforce as needed, following the site engineer’s instructions.

2. Oman-Made Materials:

Preference will be given to locally made materials, provided they meet the required specifications.

3. Sample Materials:

• Approved material samples will be retained on-site throughout the project duration until project handover.
